Have you ever needed to change the owner of a table (or for any object) in SQL Server?

We just had the need to do that today and found this nifty script from Microsoft to do it. Basically it creates a stored procedure that when run creates a list of commands that you can then run against the database to change all the owners for all the relevant objects.

So by using Query Analyzer do the following steps:

(1) Run the create stored procedure script against the database in Query Analyzer
(2) Then run the command "exec chObjOwner 'test','dbo'" against the same database to create the commands
(3) Then copy and paste the outputted commands into the execute window, and run them all!
(4) All objects will have been updated!

Hope this helps someone!

It's massive! 3200 rooms, and they're building another 4000 rooms! Also, it's pretty hot - 36°C and rising - and the locals even say that's hot for this time of year. Glad it's not just the UK enjoying unusually hot weather right now!

In any case, I'm also pleased to see that there is a good selection of other Adobe related folk here from Mike Chambers to Ryan Stewart. I haven't had the opportunity to meet them before but I'm looking forward to meeting them here.
When running multiple instances of Flex Data Services on the same server and using Flex messaging, ensure that the messaging destinations used (and specified in messaging-config.xml) are unique across ALL instances of Flex Data Services.

If you do not, Flex messaging will only work for the FDS instance that was started last that had the duplicate messaging destination name. This is due to ALL messaging destinations across ALL FDS instances being registered in the same central location using RMI.

We are using Flex Messaging with ColdFusion Event Gateways and it is fine for the Flex Messaging event gateway to have the same name across all CF instances on the same machine. You just have to ensure that all Flex messaging destinations in FDS are different, and specified properly in your Flex and ColdFusion code.

You will also need to ensure that the RTMP ports that FDS is using are different across all FDS instances. Douglas McCarroll has a good post on "Setting RTMP ports for your FDS Flex apps".

I'd like to thank João Fernandes, Tom Jordahl and Mike Nimer for their pointers in finding out the solution for this issue.

Andy Allan from the ScottishCFUG and Peter Ball ('the unstoppable blogging machine') are also down from Scotland and will be leading the drinking antics! Also, other well know UKCFUGers that will be attending are Mark Drew and Kev McCabe.

Unfortunately the UKCFUG website is a bit bust (we're working on it) so we can't post this social meeting. Hopefully we'll be back to a normal service soon!
